This is the second installment of Allen Ross's acclaimed three-volume commentary on the Psalms, covering books two and three of the Psalter. For each psalm Ross provides a translation of the text and an overview of the context, then guides the reader through a detailed exegetical outline and offers an expository idea for the message of the whole, closing with a homiletical outline.
These are the psalms of the sons of Korah and of Asaph, including the laments that give the Psalter some of its most unflinching language about God's apparent absence, and Ross handles them without softening. The volume stands on its own but is designed as part of the set; pastors working through the Psalter over time will want all three. Published in the Kregel Exegetical Library.
