Allan Harman's Mentor Commentary on Psalms 73 to 150 - the second volume, exegetical and attentive to the Psalter as Israel's creed. Read more.
The Psalms contain the praises of the people of God and function as Israel's creed, but they do more than that: they give historical accounts showing how the people were to put their trust in God, and they display his character as majestic, compassionate and Creator. Allan Harman works through Psalms 73 to 150 in this second volume.
Mentor Commentaries are pitched at the pastor and the serious student, retaining engagement with the Hebrew while keeping the exposition readable. Harman gives each psalm its structure, its setting and its theology, with attention to the shape of the Psalter as a book rather than treating the psalms as unrelated pieces. Volume 1 covers Psalms 1 to 72.
