R.C. Sproul tells of Davey, a young donkey given one very special task - and what he saw a few days later, when angry people made the King carry a heavy beam of wood. Read more.
Davey was a young donkey, bored and unhappy because he was never given anything to do. Then one day some strangers came to the gate, and Davey's master picked him for a very special task: he carried the King, Jesus, into Jerusalem. A few days later Davey saw angry people making that same King carry a heavy beam of wood.
Through Davey's eyes R.C. Sproul brings home to children the biblical teaching that Jesus was the Suffering Servant who carried the sins of his people when he went to the cross. Sproul wrote a number of children's books late in his life, and this one handles the hardest part of the story with the directness children generally prefer to evasion.
