Bunyan's allegory has been handed down in every imaginable format, and the usual choice is between a faithful text no child will read and a readable one that is no longer Bunyan. The Legacy Edition keeps the unabridged text and updates only the language that has genuinely gone opaque.

The edition carries more than 150 vintage illustrations, a foreword by Michael A. G. Haykin, cover design by Stephen Crotts, full ESV Scripture references in the margins, and large print, in an heirloom-quality cloth cover with gilded edges and a ribbon marker. Built to be the copy a family keeps and passes on.
