J. A. Alexander of Princeton on Acts - a scholar the Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia called the most remarkable linguist America ever produced. Read more.
Joseph Addison Alexander was the third son of the famous Archibald Alexander and an eminent Christian teacher in his own right; the Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia described him as the most remarkable linguist ever produced by America.
Like his father he taught at Princeton Theological Seminary, holding in turn the chairs of Oriental and Biblical Literature, Church History, and New Testament Literature. This commentary on Acts brings that learning to bear without burying the narrative, and remains among the most useful older treatments of the book.
