No man in Scripture lived more consistently and completely for God than Joseph, a favorite son of Jacob. In times of adversity and in times of prosperity - both of which offered the temptation to deny God and his lordship - Joseph remained steadfast, which is why Boice titles this volume Living by Faith.

It is the third and final volume of his exposition of Genesis. The first focused on God's relationship to the cosmos and to all the peoples of the earth, the second on the patriarchs, and this one closes the book with the Joseph narrative and the death of Jacob. Verse by verse, with the application pressed rather than implied.
