An incomplete commentary by a largely unknown author on a book that has had no shortage of expositors may seem an odd addition to the Geneva Series, as the publishers themselves admitted.

Their prejudice against an unfinished work was overcome by the sheer worth of the pages. James Beverlin Ramsey died before he could carry the exposition past chapter 11, but what he left is spiritual, Christ-centered and remarkably free of the speculation that crowds the subject.
