Lloyd-Jones regarded Romans 5 as one of the most central and theologically rich chapters in the whole letter. In it Paul unfolds the blessings that flow from justification by faith: peace with God, access into grace, and the hope of glory.
The chapter also reaches well beyond individual experience, tracing the roots of salvation back to Christ as the second Adam and opening out the scope of God's redemptive purpose for humanity. These are sermons preached at Westminster Chapel, printed as delivered, and the pace is that of a preacher who refused to hurry a text.
